You can nominate now for the 2016 LOVE ARTS AWARDS!

Awards 2

We want you to nominate a person or an organisation who has done great work in the area of mental health and arts in Leeds. There are no categories, just tell us why this person or organisation deserves recognition.

The Love Arts panel will select several award winners from all the nominations and they will be invited to the Love Arts Closing Party on October 20th. The award winners will be announced in
late September and an exhibition showcasing the award winners will be on display during the Love Arts Festival. The exhibition will feature extracts from your nomination. Each award winner will be invited to tell the audience at the party about their project or creative work. People will be able to vote for their favourite winner, who will be presented with a special trophy alongside some other winners of the Love Arts “People’s Choice” Awards.

Awards 4
You can nominate an individual or an organisation. Who deserves recognition for the creative work they are doing that has a link with mental health? It could be a volunteer who runs art groups, an arts worker supporting people in the community, an arts centre, a gallery, a theatre company that has addressed mental health in a performance, an artist who has personal experience of the issues and who has put on an exhibition, a choir that welcomes people who have used mental health services, a volunteer or worker running an art group in a mental health service, a new support group for artists: anyone in Leeds who you think deserves recognition. The awards recognise people and projects who have done work in Leeds from October 2015 – September 2016. This includes events or projects from LoveAwards 3 Arts 2015.

We advise that you ask the person or organisation’s permission before you nominate them
. You are allowed to nominate yourself or your organisation. The panel will choose the winners and their decision is final. Priority will be given to people and projects who haven’t won an award before – but that doesn’t include specific projects within a larger organisation. The closing date for nominations
is 5pm on Monday 19th September 2016.
