Love Arts Festival is a celebration of creativity and mental well-being in Leeds. It started in 2010 and is (we think) the first arts festival run by an NHS Trust in England. Every October sees a diverse spread of exhibitions, gigs, workshops, performances and more. Most of the events are organised by our various partners across the city – and we bring them under the umbrella of Love Arts.
The Festival is run by the Arts & Minds team, alongside festival volunteers. Arts & Minds is a project set up by Leeds & York Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust that promotes the use of creativity within mental health services and provides opportunities for people in the community.
The main aim of the Festival is to get people talking about mental health. We want the artwork or performances to spark a conversation. The more we talk about mental health, the more society learns to accept those who have had difficulties. Creativity is a great way to start that conversation.
We hope you enjoy the events that are in the programme this year. Do let us know if you have any questions, problems, or just want to say hello!
